A carbonaceous chondrite : it exploded above the city in 3 main fragments in a huge flash seen by many people, the 3 main fragments then exploded again before raining on the ground in a brief rain of fire. People looked for debris the followind days, so today bits of this meteorite are in various museums around the world.
