Beskrivning : STS-71 was a shuttle Atlantis mission.
The stamp design is a picture taken by Bruce McCandless during his MMU EVA on STS-41B (Challenger mission 4). The stamp commemorates STS-7 (Challenger mission 2 with Sally Ride, the first US woman in space). Sally Ride was also on STS-41G (Challenger mission 6).The stamp also unofficially commemorates the 10th anniversary of the disaster STS-51L (Challenger mission 10).
New edition: year 1996 instead of 1995.
