Description : Gagarin (Ex-Gjatsk) is a city near Smolensk, Russia and the administrative center of the Gagarinski zone. It is located on the banks of the Gjat River, its population is 26,500 inhabitants.

Birthplace of the first Cosmonaut, in 1976, it organized for the 15th anniversary of his flight an exhibition where were invited 7 Soviet cosmonauts and the 1st Polish Cosmonaut Hermaszewski.
