NASA is renaming one of its most iconic buildings at Kennedy Space Center after Neil Armstrong.

It`s the building where every astronaut stays the night before their flight -- where we see them walking out to go to the launch pad.

That same building is also where the Apollo spaceships that took Americans to the moon were put together and tested.

NASA has announced in a ceremony in two weeks, they`ll rename that "Operations and Checkout" Building after Armstrong.

Armstrong became the first person to walk on the moon, 45 years ago, this month.

He died in 2012.

His two fellow crewmembers from that Apollo 11 mission, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins, will be part of the renaming ceremony on July 21 at KSC.

NASA is using the soon-to-be-named Armstrong Building to assemble the Orion spacecraft, which is scheduled for a first test flight later this year.
