The satellite was placed in a near-circular, near-polar prograde orbit to provide near-global observations of the earth`s weather systems, cloud cover, ice and snow fields, vertical radiation from the dayside and nightside of the earth-atmosphere system for operational use by the Soviet Hydrometeorological Service.
It is believed that the satellite was deactivated in January 1972, when video data transmissions to the United States via the `cold line` facsimile link with Moscow ceased. Parola chiave : #Pianeta, #Satellite, #Terra, Questo è FUORI dalle Riviste dello Spazio. Ultima modifica: 30/09/2022 @ 10h31
