The crew consisted of Cosmonauts Valery Korzun and Alexander Kalery, and the first French woman in space, Claudie Andre-Deshays. They joined American astronaut Shannon Lucid and Mir 21 crewmates Yuri Onufriyenko and Yuri Usachev.
