Beskrivning : This US Air Force photo surveillance satellite was launched from Vandenberg AFB aboard a Titan 3D rocket. It was a KH-11 (Key Hole-11) type Spacecraft. Spacecraft engaged in investigation of spaceflight techniques and technology.

First American spy satellites to utilize electro-optical digital imaging, and provide a real-time optical observation capability. They replaced the earlier film-return type satellites of the KH-8 Gambit-3 and KH-9 Hexagon series.
